The Intensive experience
“Britta is just incredible and should be the strength and flex coach if pole ever makes it to the Olympics.”
-Hsing Yi, Pole competitor/Intensive veteran
The intensive process
Sports science, biomechanics, and a healthy dose of peer pressure
➡️ Prep Period: The first three weeks of Intensive are about building healthy habits to support your gains (daily mobility, hydration, protein intake, etc).
➡️ Intro Phase: Begin your strength and flexibility deep dive; a customized strength program, and live flexibility classes throughout the week. This phase gives you time to focus on learning the exercises and concepts, and executing them really freaking well. Intensified exercises are most effective when you feel safe and familiar.
➡️ Intensify Phase: Now that you're familiar with your program, we push push push! Expect your exercises and class expectations to progress significantly in intensity.
➡️ Integrate Phase: Here's where I'll teach you how to taper your crosstraining down. Your strength and flexibility work will mimic the adjustments you'd make if you were prepping for a show...because you will be! Our virtual showcase at the end of Intensive provides a healthy dose of peer pressure to perform and show off your new gains.
WHAT’S INCLUDED?↓

Guaranteed strength & flexibility gains.
This is not for those who are simply looking for a “grab and go” program.
This is for performing artists who are ready for eyes on their form, learn about crosstraining concepts, and be COACHED LIKE AN ATHLETE.
I can help if you:
✅ Are “DIY-ing” your strength and flexibility training, and it feels like your exercises and workouts are working against eachother, not for eachother
✅ Have tried to improve your training regimen by implementing things like increasing rest days, changing your mobility routine, or taking different classes, but are in the same place you were 6 months ago.
✅ Have tried muggle resistance training programs, but fail to see the transfer to your expression as a movement artist.
✅ Have a previous injury thats “pretty much healed”, but still flares up every once in a while and impedes on your performance.
✅ Feel like flexibility instructors “don’t get you”, and that your body will never be bendier.
✅ If you find yourself trying to “fit it all in” and aren’t sure what a balanced productive strength and flexibility program would look like for you.
✅ Have completed Level Up, or a round of The Training Club with me, and are ready for more personalized work.
You may be asking:
-
You will have designated instructions for how to maintain your skills during the strength and flexibility deep dive. But please be prepared to back off on skill training frequency.
-
Absolutely! Your programming will be customized to your needs. However if you’re going to be traveling for more than 10 days, with no gym access, I recommend waiting for a future intensive where you’ll have more control over your training variables.
-
1000% yes. Every exercise will be hand-selected for you and your needs. This is not a cookie cutter program. This is not even the type of program where you’ll receive exercises from a pool of pre-selected drills. This is top of the line custom programming.
-
If you are competing or performing in the first 3 weeks, you will be more than fine, as these weeks are not as intense.
If you are competing during the 12 week deep dive, you will not be accepted as you will not have time to do both.
-
No. The Intensive is centered around you and your results. However I am happy to provide a certificate of completion paperwork if you would like to use The Intensive as a continuing ed credit.
-
You didn’t expect the work to get done for you did you? If you don’t have the space to commit to any training right now, my advice is it’s not the right time.
However I pride myself in prescribing programs that require the least amount of time possible.
If you’re just a little busy/stressed, now may be the best time to enlist full-time support from a coach to ensure that you’re not wasting brain energy planning your training or engaging in guesswork.
All group zoom meetings will be recorded, and you can catch up anytime.
-
The Intensive is for performing artists who already have experience lifting, who need to hone in on how to use those skills to enhance their sport and art. The only requirement is to be familiar with strength and flexibility basics, and have some data on how you react to training. I recommend the Level Up Beginner program to do so. Heads up, Level Up is 6 weeks long, so be sure to download and get started before the Intensive registration opens up.
-
You will need a full gym. This is to ensure that we have options at our fingertips for whatever your body may need to progress.
-
Yes.
Please read carefully to ensure you get the most out of your Intensive experience.
Experience with lifting and flexibility training is required.
New to lifting and flexibility? Gotchu. ➡️ Ive got lots of options for preparatory programs.
At least one years experience in your pole, dance or aerial.
You will need a full gym. Period.
Be prepared to focus your efforts on STRENGTH & FLEXIBILITY TRAINING. In order to train at proper intensities to create the strength and flexibility gains that I promise from this program, you’ll need ample time to do that. While you won’t be stepping away from skillwork entirely, be sure you have the time to commit to training in the gym and on the contortion mat. This means avoid signing up for that “handspring series” at the studio, or signing up for competition.

I signed up on a whim and I'm so happy I did! This program was exactly what I was looking for, and I honestly can't believe it exists! It's crazy how knowledgable Britta is and I so appreciate her guidance. I can't wait to do another Intensive in the future. -Jasmin, pole dancer
“This summer has been hectic and so busy, which I think made the Intensive even more helpful to me. Britta laid out a program that was simple yet comprehensive, so I knew exactly where to focus my effort to see the biggest gains. She's always there to answer any questions I have or help me change strategies if needed. Most importantly, she helps me put things into perspective and figure out when to push myself and when to just chill and trust the process!”— Ella, Figure Skater
I came emotionally tiptoeing into the Intensive in a world of pain. I was recovering from fairly recent surgery that medical professionals had told me were as healed as could be, and I was hesitant to join the Intensive. But as I began to do the work, I saw immediate changes in my strength, flexibility, and most importantly to me, pain level. I met my personal goals for the whole intensive in the first few weeks. Every workout, I left feeling like a badass. When I had an unrelated and unexpected physical setback, it was worked around with grace and speed such that I never even felt the bump in the road. I could not recommend the Intensive more highly to anyone. If you’re considering it at all, and you’re on the fence, leap off that fence and apply! -Malia, pole/burlesque performer
I used to give up after contortion classes because I felt like they catered to people who were already bendy ( I felt like a real fish out of water in those classes in so many ways). I never thought I would take three months worth of contortion and come out of it with any improvements let alone no more pain. I always thought "I just don't bend that way"... turns out I do bend that way, I just needed the right coach! -Samyukta, rope artist
If you're looking for guidance to crosstrain for your pole/aerial/contortion goals, The Intensive is it. I'm learning so much about my body (particularly my nagging shoulder injury). As someone who has a lot on her plate, I'm pretty amazed at what I can achieve without feeling like I'm adding too much to my schedule. -Cady, pole instructor
I came to the intensive feeling really burnt out from pole / hopeless that I was never going to be able to achieve the things that I wanted to achieve. Now, because of my intensive gains, I feel like a whole new world to pole has opened up for me, and I'm more motivated than ever to continue learning and training! -Hsing Yi, pole competitor
The Intensive taught me how to push myself! I felt safe exploring ranges that used to scare me. -Heather, pole instructor/performer
I found some motivation for pole again. After a long time feeling a lack of motivation (and kind of depressed in general) I found some meaning again. It was a lot about keeping up with my daily work (CARs, rehab and small stuff like that) that changed something for me and then ofc the gym sessions. Especially after the showcase I just felt SO happy. It really made sense for me to hear about the other students' experience and it really did push me somehow to have something to show at the end of The Intensive. -Diana, pole competitor
I was suffering from chronic glute and lumbar muscle spasms from my previous flexibility training and had plateaued in my progress. Britta helped me overcome that when I was close to giving up, and I was able to make progress even while pregnant! Having her available to answer questions and troubleshoot was also a game changer. She was eager to help me sort through some pregnancy related challenges and was always encouraging and supportive. I have learned so much from her and I am looking forward to signing up for another round of The Intensive postpartum. -Kseniya, pole dancer
I feel so much stronger now, The Intensive is the reason I can do 5 pull ups now and it's been a lifetime goal. -Alicia, lyra instructor/performer
As a 2x student of Britta's Intensive I just have to say her programs and advice are the real deal. If you're looking to take your sport to the next level or have your movement goals taken seriously, she's your girl. -Gabby, pole performer
